If you were bowled over by Beetlejuice and enamoured by Edward Scissorhands, you’ll enjoy the travelling exhibition dedicated to the ghoulish vision of film director Tim Burton. The behemoth show dedicated to the Batman creator rolls into London next year after an extensive world tour taking in cities such as Seoul, Hong Kong and Sâo Paulo. The World of Tim Burton (25 October 2024 to 21 April 2025) at the Design Museum will “display the full extent of his production as an illustrator, painter, photographer, and author, as well as exploring some of the key collaborations which helped shape his world”, says a press blurb (works are largely drawn from Burton's own archive). There is the merchandise also of course (please exit through the gift shop) which in past shows has included treats such as the Lost Vegas Mechanical Flipbook which brings Burton’s animated characters to life (that’s Crimbo sorted next year then).
