Friday evening, I went to Arena Social to stop by A Solo Exhibition by Marlon McFly title ‘Black Futures’. Marly McFly is a self-taught artist from Newport News, Virginia. His pop art workings have been displayed in prominent galleries in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and beyond. Marly’s “Black Futures” exhibition is dedicated to the self-starters shifting generational narratives via community-centric thinking.
I am a fan of pop art and a colorful palette, so this exhibition was fun to experience. My favorite work was the last image (see below) with the text written “not for resale” and “essential”. This exhibition is o display until Sunday, May 1, 2022.
