We said it once before and we’re saying it again. Marvin Walker, founder and CEO of Day Runner Inc. is on a mission to support black businesses and entrepreneurs in Charlotte. Given his experience and journey as a businessman, Walker has made it a priority to commit his time, talent, and treasure to educate other black small business owners and entrepreneurs. In March, he donated $100,000 to the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture in Charlotte to support their arts and educational programming for the 2018 calendar year making his contribution the largest gift to the organization to date.
And that’s not all he’s doing in his community. Walker recently announced that he will be partnering with BLKTECHCLT, the first collective for black entrepreneurs in Charlotte, to purchase 100 paid memberships for Day Runner contractors in an effort to help them develop as entrepreneurs. Walker is committed to providing educational opportunities for the men and women in his area and this partnership with BLKTECHCLT will help contractors get the tools they need to build.
As a part of receiving membership to BLKTECHCLT, Day Runners Pros will gain access to mentors, resources to help them learn the ins-and-outs of building a sustainable business, along with access to experts who will help them along their journey.
The 100 paid memberships is a part of the larger initiative that founders of Day Runner Inc. and BLKTECHCLT have to foster a community of black entrepreneurs and business owners.
