ESPN+, ESPN’s Linear Networks & ABC Will Combine to Feature a Record 233 Little League International Tournament Games This Summer
For the First Time: Every Game of Little League Softball World Series & All its U.S. Regional Tournaments will be Carried
ESPN’s extensive Little League World Series coverage will be expanding this summer with more than 150 games available exclusively on ESPN+, contributing to a record-breaking 233 Little League International Tournament games available across ESPN’s services and ABC, a 93-game increase over 2017. ESPN+ is the first-ever multi-sport, direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from The Walt Disney Company Direct-to-Consumer and International group in partnership with ESPN. Fans can now subscribe to ESPN+ for just $4.99 a month (or $49.99 per year).
“We are excited to be able to offer a substantially increased number of games across Little League International’s many baseball and softball divisions with the launch of ESPN+,” said Burke Magnus, ESPN executive vice president, programming and scheduling. “These are marquee events every summer and now we will be able to bring even more of these exciting tournament games to the viewers.”
“Since first televising our Little League Baseball and Softball World Series on ESPN, we have been seeking additional opportunities to promote the benefits of participation for our young female athletes around the world,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League president and CEO. “ESPN+ will serve as a great platform to continue to grow the promotion of our softball program and to share the many benefits millions of young boys and girls enjoy each summer.”
The ESPN+ schedule will include expanded coverage of the Little League Softball and Little League Baseball U.S. Regional Tournament games, the early-round games of the Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Ore., and the semifinals of the Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division World Series in Livermore, Calif.
With the addition of games exclusively on ESPN+, this will be the first time that every game of the Little League Softball World Series and all U.S. Regional Tournaments at the Little League Softball division will be carried.
ESPN and ABC’s full, record-breaking Little League game schedule and coverage details will be announced this summer.
