Starts with Five Game 1’s this Weekend Including Defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers

ESPN and ABC will be home to the 2018 NBA Playoffs from the opening tip to the raising of the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Action begins this weekend with five first round Game 1’s, including a quadrupleheader this Saturday, April 14, starting at 3 p.m. ET when the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant host the San Antonio Spurs. On Sunday, April 15, the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James host the Indiana Pacers. Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson, and reporter Lisa Salters will call both broadcasts.

This weekend, Michelle Beadle will host two editions of NBA Countdown on ABC from ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York with analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose. The shows will air at 2 p.m. (ESPN) and 2:30 p.m. (ABC) on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday (ABC).

 

Additionally, ESPN will televise The Jump Playoff Preview presented by Kia on Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m. Rachel Nichols will be joined by Scottie Pippen, Tracy McGrady and Brian Windhorst. The show will include a special interview with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. ESPN will also air First Take NBA Playoff Special on Friday, April 13, at 10 p.m., with Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Molly Querim.

ESPN and ABC will combine to televise up to 44 games from this year’s NBA Playoffs, including the NBA Eastern Conference Finals presented by ExxonMobil exclusively on ESPN and the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV on ABC.
