Full Slate of ESPN Coverage Planned for the Regular Season’s First Game of Historic Rivalry

Red Sox World Series Champion David Ross to Contribute Analysis

ESPN will nationally televise 2018’s first regular season game between historic rivals, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, tomorrow, April 10 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, telecast presented by Hankook Tire. Play-by-play commentator Jon Sciambi will be joined by analyst and World Series Champion catcher with the Red Sox, David Ross along with Rick Sutcliffe. Ernesto Jerez will have the call with analyst Luis Alvarez on ESPN Deportes+

Baseball Tonight

Baseball Tonight: Around the Cage at 5 p.m. on ESPN2 will showcase star players from both teams’ batting practice including Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez, J.D. Martinez and more as well as player and manager interviews throughout the telecast. Karl Ravech will host the 60-minute special with Sciambi, Ross, Sutcliffe and reporter Tim Kurkjian.

MLB Intentional Talk with Chris Rose and World Series Champion with the Boston Red Sox, Kevin Millar, will air on ESPN2 from 4-5 p.m., leading into the Baseball Tonight: Around the Cage special during batting practice.

SportsCenter

Live updates from Ravech, Kurkjian and others at Fenway Park will air during the 6 p.m. SportsCenter with Linda Cohn and Zubin Mehenti preceding the first pitch.

Following the game at 10 p.m., SportsCenter All-Access, a special episode providing viewers with a real-time look into what it takes to create the iconic sports news and information program, will air with limited commercial interruption. Steve Levy and Michael Eaves will host the show with Elle Duncan and Marty Smith reporting. ESPN’s Yankees reporter Coley Harvey will be on site at Fenway Park providing behind-the-scenes video from a reporter perspective to air on the all-access show.

ESPN.com will have team writers on site for Tuesday’s game including updates from Harvey. Also on Tuesday, ESPN.com will begin unveiling its top 100 current MLB players list with 100-51. The top 50 will then be announced on Wednesday.

In advance of Tuesday’s matchup, ESPN.com also developed Keep the Yankees in the Yard, an interactive game that gives fans a first-hand experience at just how difficult it is to pitch to Judge, Stanton and Sanchez.
