Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas III was threatened at gunpoint by his wife after she caught him in bed with another woman, police in Austin, Texas, said.
Thomas’ wife, Nina Thomas, was charged with burglary with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the April 13 incident at an Airbnb rental. Two women who accompanied her to the rental home were charged with burglary. Thomas was not arrested.
Nina Thomas saw something suspicious on her husband’s SnapChat account and arrived at the rental house to find him and his brother Seth naked in bed with two women, according to a police affidavit obtained by HuffPost.
She held what she told police was an unloaded pistol less than a foot from her husband’s head, according to the document. Police said the 9mm Beretta had a bullet in the chamber and the safety off. One of the women who was in the house with the brothers told police she also was threatened with the weapon.
Thomas, according to the report, wrestled the gun away from his wife.
Arriving police officers reportedly saw a knife-wielding Nina Thomas chasing the shirtless NFL star, who was holding the gun, around a car parked outside the house. Officers drew their weapons and ordered the couple to the ground. Both complied.
In a video on Instagram, Thomas said the altercation was “nobody’s business.” The post has since been deleted.
Jonathan Goins, Nina Thomas’ attorney, said in a statement that she had been “wrongfully arrested.”
“We have already gathered information which controverts every single allegation made on the night in question,” he said.
