Anton Kern Gallery in New York has released a call for volunteers for an upcoming performance by artist Lara Schnitger, titled “Suffragette City,” a procession addressing women’s rights that will take place during Frieze New York on Randalls Island in May as part of the fair’s “Live” edition.

According to gallery manager Nadia Fristensky, Kern is looking for approximately 30 volunteers for each of four one-hour performances. There are no restrictions as to who can participate in the project. An added incentive: participants will receive free transportation and entry to the fair.

Costumed marchers will brandish Schnitger’s bold and vibrant portable sculptures, tapestries, and banners—some bearing slogans, others more abstract. The gallery specified that hopeful participants must be able to carry 10 pounds.

Last fall, Kern exhibited a selection of Schnitger’s pieces that are part of “Suffragette City,” which has been staged in cities worldwide, including Basel, Dresden, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
