If you ever watch The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, then you know that he does a segment where he writes random thank you cards about any and everything. This is my personal list of thank you’s to the Ravens.
Thank you Ravens for setting the all-time record for team rushing yards in a single season.
Thank you for setting a new single-season franchise record for rushing yards (2,830), surpassing the 2003 Ravens, who rushed for 2,674 yards.
Thank you Lamar Jackson for throwing the most touchdown passes for a quarterback age 22 or younger this season.
Thank you for becoming the first player with at least 4,000 passing yards and 1,500 rushing yards in your first 30 career games in NFL history.
Thank you Mark Andrews setting a new franchise single-season record with 10 touchdowns.
Thank you Marquise “Hollywood” Brown for tying the Ravens franchise record for most touchdowns caught by a rookie.
Thank you to all the Ravens coaches, players, cheerleaders, staff and volunteers for a renewed hope and love for the game. It is pure joy watching you all celebrate in the end zone and on the sidelines, laughing and joking, doing your dances, and just having fun.
Thank you Ravens for the sense of comradery among you all that I haven’t seen for quite some time.
Thank you for bragging on one another in the post-game interviews.
Thank you Lamar for your humility, discipline, and being unashamed in sharing your faith. You are an inspiration to young African-American boys who are watching. All of these things are so refreshing to see in a game that has been plagued by so many internal issues and ego-driven players.
Although the season didn’t end the way that I had hoped, with a 28-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans, I’m not mad or terribly disappointed. I’m a proud Ravens fan. It is not lost on me that all of the aforementioned records were accomplished with a quarterback who’s only in his first full rookie year!
I just wanted to let the entire team know that there are those of us who are still with you, and rooting for you no matter what. I believe that the best is still yet to come for us. It will be exciting to see how the next football season will unfold, and I’m here for the long, glorious ride! GO RAVENS!!
