Each year The Home Depot College Football Awards recognize the achievements of the top players and coaches in college football. Presenters for this year’s ceremony include past award winners, former college football standouts and NFL stars. New to the show this year, the Chuck Bednarik, Biletnikoff, Davey O’Brien and Doak Walker Awards will be presented with special features that explore the history of each award and its impressive group of past winners. The show will be live from the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. ET, on ESPN.
Frank Ros—captain of the 1980 national championship winning Georgia Bulldogs—will be on hand to present the National College Football Awards Association’s (NCFAA) Contributions to College Football Award to 1982 Heisman Trophy winner and former teammate Herschel Walker.
Faron Kelley, vice president of Disney Sports, will present the Disney Spirit Award to walk-on Minnesota placeholder and four-time cancer survivor Casey O’Brien for the inspiration his story has provided for his teammates, coaches and thousands of fans nationwide.
The show is preceded by The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Special at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
