Washington Nationals Home-Opener and World Series Banner Raising on April 2

14 National MLB Telecasts Featuring 17 Clubs in First 11 Days

ESPN will open the 2020 Major League Baseball campaign with 14 national game telecasts featuring 17 MLB Clubs over the first 11 days of the season. ESPN will televise an Opening Day tripleheader on Thursday, March 26, culminating with an exclusive primetime presentation of MLB Opening Night: the Houston Astros and Jose Altuve host the Los Angeles Angels and Mike Trout at 7 p.m. ET. New manager Joe Maddon will lead the Angels.

The World Series Champion Washington Nationals – led by Juan Soto – will appear in ESPN’s first MLB Opening Day game of the season on March 26 when they visit the New York Mets and new manager Carlos Beltran at 1 p.m. ET.  ESPN’s Opening Day coverage will continue at 4 p.m. ET when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cody Bellinger host their rivals, the San Francisco Giants.

The first episode of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell in the 2020 season will feature the Milwaukee Brewers and Christian Yelich hosting the Chicago Cubs, Kris Bryant and new manager David Ross at 7 p.m. ET on March 29. The game will also air across ESPN Radio and ESPN Deportes. Prior to the telecast, ESPN will televise the Opening Day game between the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics at 4 p.m. ET from Oakland Coliseum.

ESPN will nationally televise the Washington Nationals World Series banner raising ceremony on Monday, April 2. The event will precede the Nationals’ home opener on ESPN against the New York Mets at 1 p.m. ET.

The second Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell telecast of the season on April 5 will feature a rivalry matchup as the San Francisco Giants host the Los Angeles Dodgers at a special start time of 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN Radio and ESPN Deportes. Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet will generally precede all episodes of Sunday Night Baseball with its one-hour pregame show on ESPN at 6 p.m. ET.

The first 11 days of the MLB season will feature several of the most popular MLB stars in action, including Jose Altuve, National League M.V.P. Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, American League M.V.P. Mike Trout, Christian Yelich, and more. Additionally, ESPN will televise a season-opening quadruple header on Monday, March 30.
