The third-degree harassment charges filed against Los Angeles Lakers center DeMarcus Cousins have been dropped.

Cousins’ lawyer, Moshae Donald, spoke to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN detailing the misdemeanor case filed in Mobile, Alabama was dismissed.

“I am pleased to announce all criminal charges against DeMarcus Cousins have been dropped,” Donald said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. “The case is dismissed and Mr. Cousins is looking forward to moving onward with his life and career as a professional basketball player.”

This past August, an arrest warrant was issued for Cousins after he allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, Christy West. She states the two were arguing about their son attending Cousins’ wedding. A clip of West and the man who is alleged to be Cousins was released by TMZ, which the man can be heard saying “I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet in your f—ing head.”

While the legal case has concluded, Cousins still could face a penalty from the NBA under the rules of the domestic violence policy. At the time of the warrant being issued the NBA acknowledged the issue and issued a brief statement: “We are aware of the report regarding DeMarcus Cousins and are investigating the allegations.”

“We are reviewing the outcome of today’s proceedings,” an NBA spokesman said Friday to the court’s decision.

According to Bleacher Report, Cousins married his girlfriend Morgan Lang in August. NBA Stars and former teammates including Anthony Davis, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala were in attendance. John Wall and Eric Bledsoe, his teammates at the University of Kentucky, were his groomsmen.

Ahead of his wedding, Cousins signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers. In a summer workout, Cousins tore his ACL and has yet to play this season.

The ACL injury occurred earlier in the same month. Prior to that, Cousins tore his Achilles and quadriceps in the two previous seasons he spent with the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.

He will rejoin the Lakers in Memphis for their game against the Grizzlies.
