Through the first 10 weeks of the 2019 National Football League season, Monday Night Football and ESPN’s signature NFL studio shows – Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown – are all up double-digits compared to last season.

Monday Night Football

  • Celebrating its 50th season this fall, Monday Night Football is averaging 12.5 million viewers, a 10 percent increase 2018
  • Monday’s Seahawks-49ers overtime thriller averaged a season-best 16.1 million viewers. The week prior, Cowboys-Giants delivered 14.8 million viewers, the second most-viewed MNF game in 2019.
  • ESPN has won the night all 10 Mondays this NFL season, while MNF has been the No. 1 telecast those same weeks.
  • ESPN Deportes is averaging 100,000 this season, up 33 percent season-to-date. Cowboys-Giants (165,000 viewers) was the Spanish-language network’s second most-viewed MNF game on record.
  • This week: MNF is in Mexico City for just the second time ever as reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs play the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL International Series game at Estadio Azteca (Nov. 18, 8 p.m. ET).

Monday Night Countdown

  • ESPN’s weekly two-hour MNF pregame show, Monday Night Countdown is averaging 1.4 million viewers, a 13 percent increase over 2018.
  • The Nov. 4 show before Cowboys-Giants averaged 1.7 million viewers – the most-viewed Monday Night Countdown in nearly two years, while the Seahawks-49ers pregame this week also drew 1.7 million viewers.

Sunday NFL Countdown

  • ESPN’s three-hour Sunday morning NFL pregame show, Sunday NFL Countdown is averaging 1.4 million viewers, a 10 percent gain over 2018.
  • The week 1 telecast (Sept. 8) was the most-viewed show season-to-date with 1.6 million viewers.
