Viewership for ESPN’s season-opening NBA doubleheader on Wednesday was up eight percent from last year, according to Nielsen. The two games averaged 1,531,000 viewers, up from 1,423,000 viewers in 2018.
ESPN’s coverage of the Philadelphia 76ers victory over the Boston Celtics averaged 1,698,000, up six percent from 1,599,000 viewers for the Houston Rockets vs. the New Orleans Pelicans game last season.
The Denver Nuggets victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on ESPN averaged 1,345,000 viewers, up nine percent from 1,237,000 viewers for the Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns telecast a year ago.
ESPN’s NBA regular season coverage continues this Friday, Oct. 25, as the New Orleans Pelicans host the Dallas Mavericks at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Utah Jazz at the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:30 p.m.
