Viewership for the 30th season of Sunday Night Baseball Presented by Taco Bell was up two percent from last year, according to Nielsen. This season’s 26-game slate averaged 1,601,000 viewers, up from 1,572,000 viewers during the 24-game slate in 2018.
The top three most-watched Sunday Night Baseball telecasts on ESPN in 2019:
1) New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox on July 28: 2,428,000 viewers;
2) New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers on August 25: 2,418,000 viewers;
3) Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees on August 4: 2,230,000 viewers.
The top five local markets for Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN this year were 1) Chicago; 2) Hartford; 3) Providence; 4) St. Louis; 5) Boston.
The Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team of Matt Vasgersian, Alex Rodriguez, Jessica Mendoza and Buster Olney will next call the American League Wild Card Game on ESPN, Wednesday, October 2, at 8 p.m. ET.
