Weekly Themes to Serve as Umbrella for Content
ESPN CFB150 weekly themes will serve as a guiding principal for multi-platform content each week, providing fans a layered, in-depth look at specific topics which have defined college football over the last 150 years. ESPN CFB150’s first theme is “The Culture,” focusing on the elements that make college football uniquely American.
The American Game Presented by Cintas and The Greatest Presented by Xfinity Debut; Air Tuesdays and Thursdays Each Week
Two core elements of each theme week will be the docuseries, The American Game Presented by Cintas and The Greatest Presented by Xfinity, airing on ESPN Tuesdays and Thursday, respectively. The hour-long, The American Game explores the stories that have made college football an integral component of the sports landscape, while the 30-minute The Greatest tackles a singular subject each week, providing a revealing look at the memories, breakthroughs and personalities who have defined college football, punctuated by a Top 11 on each particular subject.
- In its debut episode, The American Game examines the phenomenon that has become “College Football Saturday.” With the game embodying a singular blend of pride, loyalty and tradition, you have to understand how much everything around it matters too – from the team colors to the uniforms to the bands, mascots, nicknames and more.
- The Greatest’s first episode examines an unlikely piece of serious business – mascots. ESPN’s panel of 11 discusses the live animals, the cartoon creations and everything in between, in a fun breakdown of one of the sport’s most entertaining traditions.
