98.7FM ESPN New York’s The Michael Kay Show beat WFAN’s longtime leader in afternoon drive, Mike’s On with Mike Francesa, among men 25-54 from 3-6:30 p.m. ET in the New York market, according to data provided by Nielson Audio. This marks the first time The Michael Kay Show has defeated WFAN’s show for a ratings book, scoring a 5.9 share compared to 5.5 for WFAN for the winter ratings book, January 3 – March 27.

“Although we have the utmost respect for our competition, we feel the numbers have finally caught up with reality,” said Michael Kay, host of The Michael Kay Show with Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg. “The ratings finally reveal what we have long known. We are happy with today’s numbers and hope to make this a constant occurrence, as we will continue to put out what we feel is the best talk radio show in the country. Most of all Don, Peter and I would like to thank our great listeners. Without them, there is no show.”

Ryan Hurley, program director of 98.7FM ESPN New York, said, “We couldn’t be prouder of The Michael Kay Show and the hard work the team puts into it every day. It’s quite an accomplishment to have an audience choose you as their go-to, and we appreciate them greatly for that.”
