The Expo Chicago art fair has appointed Jacob Fabricius to be the curator of its 2019 In/Situ program, which focuses on “large-scale sculpture, video, film, and site-specific works.” [ARTnews]
Collectors
The library of the late poet John Ashbery (who was also an ARTnews staffer for a stretch in the 1960s and ’70s) has been donated to Harvard by his husband, David Kermani. It includes north of 5,000 volumes, including a copy of the Oxford Book of American Verse, which “he used as an undergraduate, with pressed flowers used as bookmarks.” [The New York Times]

Jonas Mekas, 1922–2019
