Wimbledon Ladies’ Quarterfinals Tuesday: Americans to Battle—Serena, Riske…then Serena Returns in Mixed Doubles with Murray


·         “Cross Court Coverage” Continues on ESPN, ESPN2

·         ESPN+ Has Outer Courts Covered for Doubles, Juniors, Invitation Doubles including Navratilova, Clijsters and More Former Stars

The Wimbledon Ladies’ quarterfinals – highlighted by a battle of Americans when #11 Serena Williams faces Alison Riske – on Tuesday, July 9, will feature “Cross Court Coverage” as ESPN covers Centre Court and ESPN2 focuses on No. 1 Court, both starting at 8 a.m. ET.  ESPN is presenting all the Wimbledon action exclusively in the U.S. with ESPN, ESPN+ and ESPN3.

The Williams-Riske match will be on ESPN and the first on Centre Court, followed by Britain’s #19 Jo Konta vs. Barbora Strycova.

Meanwhile, ESPN2 will have #7 Simona Halep vs. Shuai Zhang followed by #8 Elina Svitolina vs. Karolina Muchova  on No. 1 Court.

In addition, the high-powered mixed doubles team of Serena Williams and Andy Murray will play late in the day on ESPN from Centre Court.  They will square off against the duo of Fabrice Martin and Raquel Atawo.

Tuesday’s ESPN+ lineup will include doubles, juniors and Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Invitation Doubles action.  The former stars in action in the Invitation Doubles include Martina Navratilova/Cara Black, Tracy Austin/Andrea Jaeger, Kim Clijsters/Rennae Stubbs and Henri Leconte/ESPN’s Patrick McEnroe.

ESPN & Wimbledon

As in 2018, every match from the 18 courts at the All England Lawn Tennis Club will be played in front of cameras.  ESPN’s coverage – first ball to last ball – includes 145 hours on television plus more than 500 matches  all available for fans between ESPN+ and ESPN3 on the ESPN app.  The action will climax with the Ladies’ Championship and the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Doubles Championships on ESPN on Saturday, July 13, and the Gentlemen’s Championship on Sunday, July 14, followed by the Mixed Doubles Championship.
