The historic and drama-filled Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Championship – won by Novak Djokovic over Roger Federer 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12 – earned an overnight rating of 3.0 for its more than five hours, up more than double (114%) compared to the championship match a year ago (1.4) for Djokovic vs. Kevin Anderson. The match peaked at its conclusion with a 4.6 rating.
The entire seven-hour telecast (it also included the Ladies’ Doubles Championship) averaged a 2.6 overnight rating, up nearly triple (189%) from 2018 (0.9). It is the third highest-rated tennis telecast in ESPN history based on overnights, behind only ESPN’s first telecast of the Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Championship, Federer over Andy Murray in 2012 (3.2), and the 2015 US Open Quarterfinals (2.7) which included a match between the Williams Sisters.
For the entire fortnight of coverage – nearly 150 hours – ESPN averaged a 0.9, up 29% from 0.7 last year. The top 10 markets:

The Djokovic-Federer duel – at 4:57 the longest of the Gentlemen’s Singles tournament this year and the longest Gentlemen’s Singles final in Wimbledon history – was the first singles match to utilize Wimbledon’s new tie break in the ultimate set, employed at 12-all. It also is the first men’s singles Major championship to be decided by a tie break.
