  • FBS: Rivalry Week for Western Michigan/Central Michigan and Akron/Kent State

Week 8 of college football season marks the 200th college football game shown on ESPN+, the premium direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) and ESPN. The week’s 26-game slate—which takes the total for the season to 201—kicks off Saturday, Oct. 20, at noon ET with Princeton at Harvard and Buffalo at Toledo, and bows at 7:30 p.m. with Rice at Florida International and Old Dominion at Western Kentucky.

Top Ranked
Seven teams from the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top-25 Poll will be featured as part of the ESPN+ schedule, including the two ranked matchups of No. 21 East Tennessee State  at No. 12 Wofford (1:30 p.m.) and No. 7 Illinois State at No. 1 North Dakota State (3:30 p.m.). Other ranked teams appearing include:

  • No. 18 Princeton at Harvard (Noon)
  • No. 4 Jacksonville State at Southeast Missouri (2 p.m.)
  • No. 10 Sam Houston State at Lamar (4 p.m.)

FBS Rivalries
It is rivalry week for Western Michigan as they head to Central Michigan (3 p.m.) and Akron as the face neighbors Kent State (3:30 p.m.). Western Michigan will look to hoist the Victory Cannon once again after falling to Central Michigan 35-28 in last year’s meeting, after winning the previous three. The Wagon Wheel Rivalry is currently tied at 23-23-1 with Akron winning the last three meetings.
