COURTESY NEW MUSEUM

The New Museum in New York has appointed Regan Grusy to the newly created role of vice president of strategic partnerships. Grusy worked at the museum for nearly a decade, first as director of development, then as director of institution advancement. In 2015, she left for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she served as the Costume Institute’s chief of staff.

Grusy will return to the New Museum on September 4. Her new role entails collaborating with corporate and foundation leaders to create major partnerships. The New Museum has recently collaborated with such organizations as Nokia Bell Labs, Microsoft Kinect, and the Knight Foundation. Additionally, the New Museum has established artist residencies and coproduced exhibitions with international organizations in the U.K., France, Turkey, China, Greece, and elsewhere; Grusy will oversee these partnerships as well in her new position.

“It’s a great honor to rejoin the New Museum at such a pivotal moment,” Grusy said in a statement. “I’ve long admired how this visionary institution has charted new territory at every level, from programming to partnerships.”

Lisa Phillips, director of the New Museum, said, “We welcome Regan back during this exciting period of growth for the New Museum, as we prepare to expand our facility and unveil the design this fall. Regan’s passion for the museum and experience in steering transformational projects makes her an ideal addition to our senior team.”
