The script was co-written by Bristol and Fredrica Bailey. It’s based on their 2017 short film of the same title, which was a finalist at the HBO Short Film Competition at American Black Film Festival and is currently on the Cinemax streaming platform, Max Go.
Starring Eden-Duncan Smith (Roxanne Roxanne) and newcomer Danté Crichlow, the film centers on two Brooklyn teenage science prodigies, Claudette “C.J.” Walker and Sebastian J. Thomas, who build make-shift time machines to save C.J.’s brother, Calvin, from being wrongfully killed by a police officer.
