Philonise Floyd said people loved being around his brother. Speaking at his memorial service, Philonise Floyd said George Floyd had a way of making everyone feel as important as a president.

“Guys that was doing drugs, smokers and homeless people — you couldn’t tell because when you spoke to George, they felt that like they were the president, because that is how he made you feel,” he said, “He was powerful, man. He had a way with words.”

Philonise Floyd described his brother as “a general” since everyone wanted to be around him.

“Every day, he walks outside, there’d be a line of people, just like when we came in, wanting to greet him and wanting to have fun with him,” he said, referencing the crowds that have gathered for the memorial.

“All these people came to see my brother. And that is amazing to me that he touched so many people’s hearts. You know, because he’s been touching our hearts, you know,” Philonise Floyd added.
