The Fondazione Merz in Turin, Italy, has named the finalists for the 2019 edition of its Mario Merz Prize for art and music. Named for the late Arte Povera artist, the prize comes with a commission for a new project at the Fondazione Merz, to go on view in 2020.

Previous work by the nominated artists will go on view at the foundation in June of next year—after which the winner is selected by members of the public who can vote on the foundation’s website before the prize is announced in October.
