ESPN’s Rachel Nichols Goes One-On-One with Cousins this Week on The Jump

NBA on ESPN continues with Wednesday night and Friday night doubleheaders. Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics tip off this week’s matchups when they host Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Mark Jones will provide commentary with analyst Jeff Van Gundy and reporter Lisa Salters. In the nightcap, the defending champion Golden State Warriors host Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans at 10:30 p.m. Mike Breen will provide commentary with analyst Mark Jackson.
On Friday at 8 p.m. ET, LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs visit Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ryan Ruocco will be courtside with analyst Doris Burke and reporter Tom Rinaldi to cover the matchup. DeMarcus Cousins is expected to return to the court and make his Warriors debut at 10:30 p.m. when the Golden State Warriors visit the LA Clippers in the NBA Friday nightcap. Dave Pasch will provide commentary with analyst Chauncey Billups. The telecast will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the Golden State home market.
ESPN’s NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC returns for the fourth season this Saturday, Jan. 19 when the Houston Rockets and M.V.P. candidate James Harden host the Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, at 8:30 p.m. ET (James is currently recovering from injury and his status is unclear). Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Lisa Salters will provide commentary for NBA Saturday Primetime throughout the season.
ABC will also broadcast a special matinee edition of the series, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 p.m. as the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid take on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook. Mark Jones and analyst Hubie Brown will call the action from the Wells Fargo Center with reporter Israel Gutierrez.
NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pregame show, will tip off game coverage for each night as host Michelle Beadle joins analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose to preview the games and give halftime reports.
ESPN’s The Jump will air at 3 p.m. this week, hosted by Rachel Nichols and featuring a cast of high-profile analysts, reporters and guests. On Friday’s episode, Nichols interviews 4x NBA All-Star, DeMarcus Cousins, to discuss his highly anticipated return to the court after last year’s season ending Achilles rupture.
The ESPN+ series NBA: Year One captures Norman Oklahoma native, and Atlanta Hawks point guard, Trae Young as the rookie heads to Oklahoma City to face his hometown team for the first time in his NBA career. On the eve of that game, Young visits the Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital to spend time with a fan who suffered injuries from a 2017 car accident on the way to see Young play at Oklahoma University. NBA: Year One gives fans an unprecedented, all-access look behind the scenes of the most notable NBA rookies, on and off the court. ESPN+ is the premium direct-to-consumer sports service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment and ESPN.
