ESPN’s networks will showcase No. 1 Clemson and No. 2 Alabama in non-conference games as well as No. 4 LSU, No. 9 Florida, No. 12 Texas, No. 16 Oregon, No. 19 Washington State, and No. 20 Boise State in conference matchups during college football’s week 4. The slate will play out during ESPN College Football 150’s “Evolution” week, as the weekly episodes of The American Game and The Greatest examine how the sport has progressed throughout the years.

ABC’s Saturday Night Football: Undefeated Oklahoma State at No. 12 Texas in a Big 12 Opener for Both Teams
The No. 12 Texas Longhorns will host ABC’s Saturday Night Football Presented by Wells Fargo  for the second time in three weeks after not hosting the premier franchise since 2013. The undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys come to Austin (7:30 p.m. ET), as both teams play in their first Big 12 game of the season. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Maria Taylor will call the game from Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

ESPN CFB150 Showcase Game: No. 9 Florida Hosting Tennessee
ESPN will begin its day with No. 9 Florida hosting Tennessee (noon) in the ESPN CFB150 Showcase Game, as the Volunteers-Gators continue a series which began more than 100 years ago. Florida has won 13 of the last 14 matchups, dating back to 2005. Bob Wischusen, Dan Orlovsky, and Allison Williams will be in Gainesville, Fla., for the call.

No. 1 Clemson and No. 2 Alabama Non-Conference Games; No. 4 LSU in its SEC Opener

  • 1 Clemson hosts Charlotte on ACC Network Primetime Football (7:30 p.m.)
  • 2 Alabama at home vs. Southern Mississippi on ESPN2 (noon)
  • 4 LSU at Vanderbilt in the Tigers’ conference opener on SEC Network (noon.)

No. 15 UCF at Pittsburgh, No. 22 Washington at BYU Featured in Afternoon
ABC will feature two ranked teams on the road in the afternoon, as No. 15 UCF travels to Pittsburgh and No. 22 Washington is at BYU (3:30 p.m.). Both games will be on ABC or ESPN2, depending on viewer location. Jason Benetti, Rod Gilmore, and Quint Kessenich will be in Pittsburgh, while Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay, and Molly McGrath will be in Provo, Utah.

Michigan State at Northwestern (noon) begins the day on ABC, as the Spartans and Wildcats open Big Ten play. Dave Pasch, Greg McElroy, and Tom Luginbill call the game in Evanston, Ill.

Back-to-Back Signature Pac-12 Games Conclude ESPN Quadrupleheader
The No. 16 Oregon Ducks at Stanford (7 p.m.) and UCLA at No. 19 Washington State (10:30 p.m.) will conclude ESPN’s Saturday with two signature Pac-12 games as the Ducks, Bruins and Cougars open their conference slates. Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge, and Holly Rowe will be in Stanford, Calif., and Beth Mowins, Anthony Becht, and Rocky Boiman are in Pullman, Wash.

ESPN College Football 150 Theme: Evolution
ESPN College Football 150 theme this week is “Evolution,” as ESPN’s multi-platform content will look at how the sport has evolved throughout the years. Highlighting the programming is episode two of The American Game and The Greatest, on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, at 7 p.m.

  • The American Game Presented by Cintas: Over 150 years, college football has evolved in so many different and transformative ways, from a rugby-like scrum in the nineteenth century to the wide-open, thrilling game we enjoy today.
