ESPN’s award-winning Sunday morning program E:60, featuring the most high-profile athletes and best stories in sports, debuts a new season of original programming on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 9 a.m. ET on ESPN.
Some of the upcoming profiles include Houston Texans wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, Utah Jazz player Donovan Mitchell, Washington State football coach Mike Leach and many more.
“With our 12th season getting underway, we’ve never had so many compelling stories to tell,” said executive producer Andy Tennant. “The goal is to find the best stories and tell them better than anyone else. This season the stories are all about that vision. It’s also about variety. There are hard-hitting investigations, superstar profiles and human interest features. That’s what makes E:60 a destination on Sunday mornings. There’s something for everyone.”
In its season debut this Sunday, E:60 remembers the Parkland shooting nearly a year since the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that killed 17 people. “Parkland 17” follows the Stoneman Douglas football team throughout its season after the loss of their beloved assistant coach Aaron Feis. Players recall the nightmare that occurred and share their own stories with reporter Jeremy Schaap.
In addition to “Parkland 17,” the episode includes ESPN reporter Mark Fainaru-Wada sitting down with hall of fame broadcaster Bob Costas. For the first time on camera, Costas speaks about his departure from NBC after nearly 40 years with the network.
The “Tell Me a Story” segment will feature comedian Chris Tucker who shares a hilarious story about the day NBA star LeBron James came to his church with Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson.
E:60 premiered on ESPN on October 16, 2007 as a prime-time newsmagazine show. With 14 Emmy awards it has since evolved into a weekly Sunday morning program hosted by Jeremy Schaap and Bob Ley.
