Anne Leonard has been named the Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Leonard will be charged with overseeing the museum’s works on paper, and she will begin her new position in January 2019.

Leonard comes from the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago, where she is currently senior curator of European Art and publications and research director. She is also currently an art history lecturer at the university.

“Anne Leonard is an inspired curator and a talented teacher—a combination that will be so important to her role as the Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs,” Clark Art Institute director Olivier Meslay said in a statement, adding, “While her expertise in 19th-century European art is ideally suited to the scope of our collection, Anne brings great insight and curiosity about the entire works on paper collection. Her creativity will surely inform the exhibitions she will organize at the Clark.”
