(Reuters) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday reported here 71 more cases of measles in the week since April 12.

From Jan. 1 to April 19, 626 individual cases of measles have been confirmed in 22 states, the second-highest number of cases reported in the United States since the disease was eliminated in 2000, the health agency said.

The CDC had reported 555 cases in 20 states between Jan. 1 and April 11.
