COURTESTY ADDISON GALLERY OF AMERICAN ART

The Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover, Massachusetts, has appointed Gordon Wilkins as its associate curator of American art. He will begin his new role on October 29.

Wilkins comes from the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, where he was assistant curator for exhibitions and research, and worked on the institution’s temporary and permanent exhibitions, as well as related publications.

In a statement, Addison Gallery director Judith Dolkart said, “Gordon’s wide-ranging curiosity, his commitment to interdisciplinary explorations, and his adventurous ideas for thought-provoking exhibitions make him a perfect fit for the Addison.” She continued, “We are now presenting a series of exhibitions and programs that explore the essential question: What is America? We are excited that Gordon will bring his creativity, perspectives, and insights to this and future programming.”
